Kokomo Christian School to Close |

KOKOMO, Ind. – Kokomo Christian School will close at the end of the current school year due to declining enrollment and, therefore, funds.
Kokomo Christian School was founded in 1974 as an educational ministry of Bible Baptist Church. Since that time, Kokomo Christian School has had a positive impact in the lives of more than 5,000 students. The school focused on Christian education that was sound in academic principles but, most importantly, anchored in the Word of God. At the height of its ministry, Kokomo Christian School boasted a fully accredited pre-kindergarten through 12th grade program with more than 300 students.
"We are thankful for the sacrifice that the teachers and staff have made for our family," said Dan Harsh, Kokomo Christian School board member, whose five children and grandchildren attended KCS. "My wife, Carolyn, and I are very glad our children and grandchildren received an excellent education, with the view through the prism of the Word of God."
KCS board member Andy Curtis thanked Kokomo Christian School staff and teachers past and present.
"All Kokomo Christian School teachers and staff have sacrificed greatly for the benefit of these students," Curtis said. "My wife, Stacey, and I -- as Kokomo Christian School parents, family, friends and members of Bible Baptist Church and the community -- express our sincere gratefulness for the life-changing ministry you have had in the lives of our children. May God be honored and glorified because of your faithfulness in ministry.”
The decision to close Kokomo Christian School was confirmed Sunday by a majority vote of the Bible Baptist congregation.
